Welcome to ELI, a non-profit organization that creates volunteer, internship, and study abroad opportunities for the globally-minded who want a travel experience that goes beyond the ordinary.  Since its founding in 2001, ELI has worked with thousands of participants from 41 countries, providing them an amazing array of programs.

International Volunteer Projects: ELI works with community-based organizations in over 20 countries to facilitate flexible volunteering opportunities.  Each project is individually organized. Our placements are not tours or pre-fabricated programs.  Over the years ELI volunteers have contributed to ongoing projects that have made important differences with the communities.

International Internships: Interns gain important competencies working in businesses and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) abroad.  This international experience and the opportunity it provides to develop cross-cultural communication skills give a valuable edge when applying for jobs or graduate school.  

Study Abroad: ELI study programs are unique, frequently offering internship and volunteer opportunities that get the student out of the classroom and into the field.  We believe that integration into the community is a crucial part of the study experience.
